One Day Sculpture was a cumulative series of 20 public artworks, each of which lasted only 24 hours, produced from August 2008 to June 2009. Initiated by UK-based curator and Director of Situations, Claire Doherty and Massey University’s Litmus Research Initiative in Wellington, the series was realised in partnership with art institutions and artist-run initiatives throughout New Zealand. The One Day Sculpture website www.onedaysculpture.org.nz contains information, responses and ful details of the series. The One Day Sculpture book was published by Kerber in November 2009. This publication offers a timely anthology of newly commissioned texts alongside a comprehensive analysis of the year-long commissioning series in New Zealand. |
