Public Art Needs Continuity was one of three seminars, devised by Situations in collaboration with ixia in response to the provocative statement What Public Art Needs Now! This seminar looked at Beyond, a public art programme that has been realised over a ten-year period in the context of Leidsche Rijin, a city extension to Utrecht in the Netherlands. Beyond was used to explore the commissioning of both temporary and permanent public art, particularly in the context of urban and residential developments.
